C'EST LA VIE...
C'EST LA VIE...
Ah, if the whole world could hear me
I have a lot to tell
Say I learned...
That in life we have to understand
That one is born to suffer
While the other laughs....
This beautiful song by Tim Maia has a truth that we don't really like to realize... in our world, for one to get along, someone will always "pay the duck", as the ancients used to say... it's a philosophy kind of depressing, but that's what happens in our daily lives. Otherwise, let's see... whenever someone manages to reach their goal, even if indirectly caused the defeat of another. In life there is only one winner, others are defeated by the situation and circumstances. And this applies to all fields of life... personal, professional, loving, family... want an example? So come on... you're interested in a guy, you find him attractive... you're going to start your seduction game to conquer him. But it's not just your attention that has been awakened, there are other competitors in the game. And only one of the, so to speak, players on the field will be able to "hook" the heart of the intended. That goes for guys too, of course. In the professional field... you always give your best, always hoping to be noticed by your superiors and manage to climb new positions in the company's hierarchy. But it's not just you who are there, there are other people who also want a better position. And when an opportunity arises, only one of the many people there will get the long-awaited promotion with all the benefits that such an event will provide. And so it goes... in every field of life, the battle to prove yourself better than your fellow man happens every second...
Yes, my dears, life is hard. Well, some say that it "is tough for someone who is soft", but that's not the case... many things are beyond our control. Circumstances are often unfavorable to us and sometimes luck turns its back on us... Of course, not everyone believes in luck. I have a friend who always says that the more he studies, the more his luck increases. I agree with him in parts. It is clear that the more you prepare, the better conditions you will have to try to get the chances that may appear in your life. As I said the other day, Kairós is quite slippery and doesn't give us a second chance. When the opportunity presents itself, we must try to grab it with both hands, and make sure that Lady Fortuna does not slip away from us... easier said than done, as the ancients said. After all, there's more at stake than our mere will to win...
"That's defeatist talk", no doubt some will say. "We are the ones who make our luck", others will say. Well, I agree that part of our success in our endeavors depends on our performance, on our own efforts. But there are situations that are beyond our control, no matter how much we want to be masters of our destiny. But, as someone once said, at some point... "c'est la vie"...
What can we do to try to improve our lot? Well, we can only do one thing... prepare ourselves as much as we can, so that we can overcome the barriers that are in front of us at all times. And, with each defeat that is inflicted on us, we lift ourselves up and lift our heads, continue fighting against life's mishaps, in search of the much-dreamed victory. Shall we make it? I don't know. Some of us will definitely make it to the podium and receive the laurel wreath for their victory, while most will fall by the wayside. Well, for those who didn't get the best positions in the race of life, you have to remember the verses from Tim Maia's song..."But, those who suffer always have to look... at least come to find... a reason to to live... to see in life some reason to dream... to have a dream all blue... if we don't find reasons to keep fighting and surrender to conformism and defeat, well, then we really are lost...
It's seven and a half hours into this beautiful, cloudy morning, where the thermometers show 22ºC, with the possibility of torrential rain later on. Well, if it rains, the temperature will definitely drop... but that's part of the game.
May God bless us all and allow us to have the best first Tuesday of the year we've ever had. May this day be bright and may we be able to envision all the opportunities that may present themselves in front of us, and may we have the discernment to take advantage of them...
Stay with God and see you tomorrow, if He allows it... kisses...
