I have always been passionate about the French language. By the Italian language, too. But I never managed to learn more than a few words. That doesn't mean I never ventured to sing the songs in those languages. I even "murder" the English, when I like the melody... well, among the many French songs that I love passionately, one of my favorites is, without a doubt, "Love, please love me", by Frank Gerald and Michel Ponareff... is one of those songs that makes me ecstatic, makes me travel through the world of dreams, fantasy. I know the lyrics aren't all that happy, as it's an ode to unrequited love... the persona of the poetry begs your beloved to reciprocate her feelings, and the fact that there's no reciprocation just makes her even sadder . And isn't that exactly how we feel, when we're in love with someone who doesn't match our feelings? Yes, I know that some people prefer to keep this passion in the platonic field, but sometimes the feeling is so strong that you can't hide it, no matter how hard you try.

I think the time when we suffer most from our "crushes" is adolescence. First because, as we are discovering the world around us, any expectation we create becomes huge, as everything is new in our lives. The first love usually comes with the first disappointment. It's like this... you look at that handsome boy... (or beautiful girl, if you're a boy...) and you're totally dazzled by him. His intoxicating smile, his soft voice, the way he looks... everything about him is perfect, apart from the fact that he's not interested in you... and that's when his game of seduction begins. A wink, a more... subtle look, handpicked words to try to get your attention... and many times (most of them, actually) none of it works, and your prince charming doesn't even deign to look at you. ... for him you are invisible, you simply do not exist. And you, after giving up fighting for this unrequited love... after all, he decided to be with another girl who wasn't you... for some time you'll be crying in the corners the love that didn't bloom. Yes, this will be your first disappointment, among the many that you will face throughout your life.

In any case, if you didn't manage to be with your loved one, we can say that your disappointment was not as big as if you had stayed by his side for some time. Why? Well, it's simple. We are talking about unrequited love. Suddenly, even though he doesn't like you, as he has "nothing else better to do", and as "you're really giving me away", he decides to accept your love. After all, nothing better to inflate our ego than knowing that we have someone really interested in us, right? And if that someone loves you unconditionally, what's the problem with staying together for a while, "until something better comes along"? Yes, I know it's kind of... rude... to say it that way, but people are cruel and often act exactly like that...

The problem is, since the person doesn't like you, they often show it through their actions, belittling everything you do... mostly because you're begging to be loved, and love doesn't beg. Either you love it or you don't. There is no middle ground.

Well, the outcome of a love affair of this nature is predictable. At some point our prince will get tired of the situation... after all, for him it's an uncomfortable thing... and he will separate from us. If he is a kind person, he will try to sugarcoat the pill, saying that the fault for the relationship not working out is not ours, but his, who did not know how to value the feeling we dedicate to him. If you are not as kind as that, you will simply break off the relationship, without further explanation. Which actually don't exist. And so, we will be ready to take the next fall in the love field...

It's 7:50 am on the first day of February, a wonderful month that will certainly only bring good things to our lives. It's 21ºC right now, the sky is overcast and it will probably rain during the day.
