RESPEITO... 

 Acabei de ler uma historia incrível. De uma personagem que gosto muito. O título da história é "Respeito", e a protagonista é a Tina, dos Estúdios Maurício de Souza. A autora é Fefê Torquato, que com seus traços delicados, dá vida a uma trama que vai te pegando aos poucos, te envolvendo de tal forma que não dá para deixar de se colocar no lugar da personagem...

Nessa trama a protagonista inicia em um novo emprego... finalmente se encontra na redação de "um jornal de verdade", segundo suas próprias palavras. Não está mais em um jornal estudantil. Agora luta na selva que é a Sociedade e, aos poucos, vai descobrindo o quão selvagem é a "vida de adulto"... principalmente quando você é vista como uma presa fácil pelos predadores de plantão...

Aos poucos a personagem vai desbravando o novo mundo no qual foi inserida e descobre que nem tudo são flores... a vida não é simples, já disse alguém certa vez... O famoso trote para enturmá-la, prática tão desagradável quanto "normal" na maioria dos locais de trabalho a deixa um pouco sem graça, mas ela se levanta e segue em frente... afinal, é para a frente que se anda...

O mote da história está na primeira frase que aparece na tela de seu celular... "O futuro depende das escolhas que você faz"... E a menina tem que decidir qual caminho irá tomar... se o "fácil", que lhe garantirá seu nome em sua primeira intervenção no Jornal, o o mais longo, onde sua integridade moral será preservada...

Ser mulher nessa vida não é fácil. E isso fica bem claro quando Tina acompanha sua nova colega para casa. A convite desta, e uma vez que está muito tarde para ir para sua casa, passa a noite com a família de sua nova amiga. E na conversa que as duas travam durante o percurso, o medo do assédio é mostrado como ocorre na vida real. Uma mulher caminhando sozinha à noite teme por sua integridade física, pois nossa sociedade ainda não a respeita como indivíduo...

Sei bem o que é isso. A não muito tempo atrás eu e minha netinha caminhávamos pelo bairro... era um dia ensolarado... quando começamos a ser assediadas por dois adolescentes. Suas intenções não eram das melhores. Eu não podia mostrar para minha pequenina que não estávamos seguras, mas ela percebeu a situação e ficou nervosa, o que é perfeitamente compreensível... felizmente conseguimos nos livrar dos dois assediadores, com a ajuda de alguns conhecidos nossos...

Eis aí algo que não consigo entender. Por que alguns homens, para se sentirem superiores, tem que assediar as mulheres? E por que, a despeito de tudo, muitas vezes ultrapassam todas as barreiras da civilidade, vitimando a mulher, apenas para provar o quanto são "fortes"? Se uma mulher caminha sozinha por uma rua qualquer e de repente vê na outra ponta um homem caminhando em sua direção, o sinal de alerta é aceso na hora... desconhecidos representam perigo... a violência que grassa em nosso meio nos deixa sempre em alerta, pois não sabemos de onde virá o ataque...

Na história em questão, tal acontece em seu local de trabalho. Tina é assediada pelo seu chefe, que deixa bem claro que, se não fizer seu jogo, ela não terá futuro naquele veículo de comunicação. E sabe o que é pior? É que isso acontece na vida real... simplesmente a autora passou para a ficção algo que realmente ocorre na vida real. E essa é uma prática contra a qual devemos lutar sempre, e denunciar quando tal ocorrer...

No final, tudo se resume ao título da historia... "Respeito". Quando há respeito entre as pessoas, homens e mulheres, tudo caminha como se deve. O problema é que nossa sociedade ainda segue um viés machista, onde todos perdem...

Que um dia se encontre o equilíbrio entre os gêneros, e uma mulher possa se encontrar com um homem sem que nenhum dos dois tenha que temer-se mutuamente. Há um longo caminho até chegarmos a esse resultado, mas se todos seguirmos a premissa básica... respeito acima de tudo... com certeza teremos uma Sociedade mais justa...

RESPECT...

I just finished reading an incredible story. About a character I really like. The story is titled "Respect," and the protagonist is Tina, from Mauricio de Sousa Studios. The author is Fefê Torquato, who, with her delicate style, brings to life a plot that gradually captivates you, involving you in such a way that you can't help but put yourself in the character's shoes...

In this story, the protagonist starts a new job... finally finding herself in the newsroom of "a real newspaper," in her own words. She's no longer at a student newspaper. Now she fights in the jungle that is society and, little by little, discovers how savage "adult life" is... especially when you're seen as easy prey by the predators on duty...

Little by little, the character explores the new world she's been thrust into and discovers that not everything is rosy... life isn't simple, as someone once said... The famous hazing ritual to integrate her, a practice as unpleasant as it is "normal" in most workplaces, leaves her a little embarrassed, but she gets up and moves on... after all, you have to move forward...

The story's theme is in the first sentence that appears on her cell phone screen... "The future depends on the choices you make"... And the girl has to decide which path she will take... the "easy" one, which will guarantee her a name in her first intervention at the newspaper, or the longer one, where her moral integrity will be preserved...

Being a woman in this life isn't easy. And that becomes very clear when Tina accompanies her new colleague home. At her friend's invitation, and since it's too late to go home, she spends the night with her new friend's family. And in the conversation they have during the walk, the fear of harassment is shown as it occurs in real life. A woman walking alone at night fears for her physical safety, because our society still doesn't respect her as an individual...

I know exactly what that's like. Not long ago, my granddaughter and I were walking through the neighborhood... it was a sunny day... when we started being harassed by two teenagers. Their intentions weren't good. I couldn't show my little one that we weren't safe, but she noticed the situation and got nervous, which is perfectly understandable... luckily we managed to get away from the two harassers, with the help of some acquaintances...

Here's something I can't understand. Why do some men, to feel superior, have to harass women? And why, despite everything, do they often cross all boundaries of civility, victimizing women, just to prove how "strong" they are? If a woman is walking alone down any street and suddenly sees a man walking towards her at the other end, the alarm bells immediately ring... strangers represent danger... the rampant violence around us keeps us constantly on alert, because we don't know where the attack will come from...

In the story in question, this happens at her workplace. Tina is harassed by her boss, who makes it very clear that if she doesn't play his game, she won't have a future at that media outlet. And you know what's worse? This happens in real life... the author simply translated something that actually occurs into fiction. And this is a practice we must always fight against, and denounce when it happens...

In the end, it all comes down to the story's title... "Respect". When there is respect between people, men and women, everything goes as it should. The problem is that our society still follows a sexist bias, where everyone loses...

May the day come when we find a balance between the genders, and a woman can meet a man without either of them having to fear the other. There is a long way to go until we reach that result, but if we all follow the basic premise... respect above all... we will certainly have a more just society...
